Our Deaf Lionesses arose to the biggest occasion and did something no English Deaf Futsal team had done before: win GOLD at a major International Championships.

A slow burner of a final against a technical Spanish side exploded in the second half with Rose Kent completing her hat-trick to go 3-0 ahead with stunning goals. But as the clock ticked down, Spain staged an unlikely comeback to set up a nail biting finish.

But our Deaf Lionesses saw the game out to go down in history.

With Zara Musker winning the Golden Boot, Maisie O’Shea winning Most Valuable Player and manager Marios Costi winning Best Manager, it’s been an absolutely perfect tournament from our Deaf Lionesses.
